Movement has always been a passion of mine, whether it was running and dancing in my youth or hiking and teaching ballroom dancing as an adult and now chasing around my daughter, I have discovered a profound sense of joy and wonder in the flow of the body. Over the last ten years, yoga has become an integral part of nourishing my body and mind through breath, movement and mindfulness. I am honored to be a graduate from the Yoga Conservatory 200-hour teacher training program, under the loving
guidance of Kate Holly, Todd Jackson, Fawn Williams and Emily Light. As a teacher and a mother, I feel called to share yoga with all walks of life from babies to mature adults and especially families. In my classes, I hope to share laughter, joy and a sense of community with all my students.
Inspired by the tone and poise of professional dancers, I strived to find an exercise where I could harness my own version of that strength and grace. I discovered barre three years ago in Portland, Oregon and fell in love with it after my first class. Two years and hundreds of classes later I relocated to Costa Rica where I worked for the past year as a barre and strength training instructor at an outdoor gym in the Guanacáste Province. My classes engage in kinetic, mind-body movements and will bring a fire in your muscles while delivering incredibly fast results. We listen to old school hip hop, soothing electronic beats, classical music, and of course a couple of booty shaking songs to help you swing those hips and strengthen your core. In an hour and fifteen minutes you will work your entire body beginning with a warm up and ending with a relaxing series of stretches. Be sure to bring your water bottle, this class will leave your muscles with that “hurt so good” soreness after one session. *Se habla español.
Marcus Stanback has been a dedicated student of yoga since his exposure to the practice in 2016. Originally beginning yoga to relieve back pain, he saw benefits from the connection of breath to movement and mindfulness. As a former D1 athlete, he enjoys finding ways to use yoga to create a sustainable amount of challenge while maintaining full body awareness. He aims to embody and share subtle aspects of yoga through breath work and a sharper understanding of the asanas. He sees the practice of yoga as an opportunity for us to become aware of our own experience while uniting with our environment as we learn and grow. Marcus completed his 200 hour certification at Yoga Bhoga.
Krista Carlson comes to yoga with a background in dance, running, and cycling, and has found in yoga a way to go deeper into the self and nurture the union between body and mind. After years of developing a personal practice, Krista was driven to share the benefits of yoga with others. Krista received their 200-hour RYT teaching certificate from Soul Shack Yoga and Wellness Studio in Los Angeles, California, training in Iyengar-based Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative methods as well as the integration of sound healing, aromatherapy, Reiki, and Ayurveda into the Yoga practice. The program, led by Jessica Clark and Maygen Nicholson, emphasized an individualized approach within an inclusive healing environment. Krista is grateful for the growth yoga fosters each day, and strives to provide students with a safe and welcoming space to explore their own practice and honor the connection between breath and movement. Krista is dedicated to making benefits of Yoga accessible to all.

As a teenager, Lydia loved to run and practiced tae kwon do. After a knee injury sidelined her for months, she discovered functional movement practices, such as yoga. While living in Montreal as a college student she studied Iyengar and Ashtanga simultaneously, learning breath, focus and alignment from two very different styles of yoga.
Lydia moved to Portland in 2010 where she began to practice vinyasa, dance and Booty Luv. This lead to her taking yoga teacher training through CorePower Yoga and learning to teach Booty Luv from Heather Craig. Now she teaches Booty Luv in the Portland area with an emphasis on functionality and fun.

April teaches yoga as a way to cultivate energetic as well as physical alignment. She approaches classes under this mind-body "hatha" philosophy, and incorporates elements of classical Iyengar-style yoga's slower movements, anatomy cues, and longer holds. At the personal level, yoga asanas and mindfulness practice has helped her overcome injuries and emotional hurdles. As a teacher, her intention is to inspire individuals and families at any level of the practice to expand themselves from the inside, out. She is a writer when she's not teaching yoga, and loves to bring elements of story into her classes. She spends her free time with her family and pup, anyplace seeped in the enchantments of Mother Nature.
I was first introduced to yoga at the age of 16, although my mom would say it was when I was first born as a breech baby. My yoga practice has always been influenced by my early years as a dancer. Yoga has will and continue to be to be many things for me over time. As it started out very physical, it has now transformed into something very meditative and healing. Yoga has provided me physical strength and longevity while helping me cultivate the concentration of mind. The Prenatal Yoga I offer is a Hatha based practice that helps support and nourish mamas in all trimesters of birth. The class is gentle and educative in nature, and invites balance and ease in the body, while cultivating intuition and instinct. Come explore the use mantra, sacred song and breath work to activate and prepare the body in a way that nourishes and supports mama in her prenatal process.

I was first introduced to yoga when I was twelve and my mother brought home a Kathy Smith Yoga VHS tape. From that point on I was hooked. I played competitive sports thru high school and college and I found yoga was unlike any other athletic endeavor I had experienced. There is no winning, losing or perfecting yoga. You come as you are to your mat and in the words of my teacher “yoga meets you where you are at.” In my 15 plus years of practice, yoga has served me in times when I most needed it and helped me transition and grow throughout my life. In 2014, I was inspired to take my practice a step further and went on to complete my 200 RYT Hatha Yoga training in Denver, CO thru Axis Yoga. After the birth of my first daughter, yoga stepped in again and helped my mind and body recover and it was at this point I knew I wanted to work with fellow women on their journey to motherhood. In 2017, I studied under the Bhaktishop’s Shana Celnicker-Chong and gained my training in Pre and post-natal yoga. I love connecting with community and strive to create a safe and welcoming place to practice.
My yoga journey began in 2014 through an attempt to recover from an ankle injury and quickly developed into a dedicated passion for the practice. Three years later I completed my RYT 200 at Dallas Yoga Center in Texas. My training was deeply rooted in anatomy as well as the mind, body, and spirit connection. I strive to place kindness, mindfulness, and playfulness at the core of all of my classes. For me, yoga has been a practice of learning self-love and my hope is to spread that awareness to all of my students.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance through Sonic Yoga in New York City. I came to Yoga in 2014 - or as I like to think, yoga came to me - during an emotionally difficult time in my life. Through yoga, I found the strength and balance I needed to get through that time. Ever since, my yoga practice has been guiding me through ups and downs, always reminding me to be present while keeping me balanced and energized. In 2016, I decided it was time to deepen my yoga practice. I offer energizing and balanced Vinyasa classes while I pay close attention to proper alignment while incorporating the philosophy of yoga.
Ingrid has been practicing yoga and somatic movement for over 15 years. She guides her classes with compassion and believes in facilitating an experience of being present in the body and connecting with one's sense of wholeness. You will usually find her with a gaggle of children riding her bicycle somewhere near Roseway. She is a longtime resident, PNW native and founder of Roseway Yoga + Movement.
Kira grew up with her parents practicing Hinduism and learning the teachings of the Deities (Gods and Goddesses). Her father always tried incorporating meditation into their lives. As she became older she began to embrace the Asanas of Yoga. Her first practice was in Boston, MA at a Bikram Yoga studio. She was sweating and light headed as she left. Yet her body felt alive and present. Since then she’s explored a variety of yoga styles in many places. One of her favorite locations was doing yoga with the morning school children on the banks of the Ganges in India. Doing yoga abroad inspired her heart to teach yoga to others. Kira moved to Portland 6 years ago and as soon as she arrived began her 200 hour teacher training with Annie Adamson at Yoga Union. She is now an innovative yoga teacher trained in Anusara influenced and alignment based yoga. Her teachings are heart centered and focus on themes in life and within your body. She believes that a yoga practice is not only about the asanas, but also about emotional release, presence, and implementing yoga in your every day life. Kira loves any form of movement. She rides her bike all around town and sometimes you can spot her at a park upside down on someone’s feet doing Acrobatic Yoga.
